Fingerprint Doorknob With Hidden Keyway — GeekTale K01

This is the lock picking lawyer and what I have for you today is one of the better disguised smart door. Knobs I’ve ever seen it’s the geektail brand model k01 and it lists on Amazon for 99. Now I should start by noting that I have not fully set this up, because to do so, I need to put their app on my phone, which is a non-starter for me, but you can imagine how this disguised fingerprint sensor would work. It’S currently locked and unlocked, and if you wait just a moment or two, it becomes locked again, there’s nothing groundbreaking there, particularly at the 100 price point. What caught my attention, though, is: what’s behind the sensor?

We can see a keyway and several screws. Now I have removed these screws and there’s nothing of note behind the panel, so the design isn’t as bad as I originally thought, but that is a poor consolation. When you see how terrible the core is we’re going to try to pick it open, I’m going to use a turning tool and wave rake from the Genesis set, I sell both of them over on covertinstruments.com, I’m going to apply light tension and just jiggle that rake And you can see in just a moment: we got that open. Let’S do that one more time.

So you can see it was not a fluke. Once again, I’m going to put this Turner tool in the bottom of the keyway apply very light tension and jiggle around my wave break. Okay folks, as you saw, this provides very little pick resistance. It is a novel concept, but the execution obviously leaves much to be desired. In any case, that’s all I have for you today.
