You FLASH, You LOSE!! (Magifest Edition)

Welcome back, everyone! Today, we’re diving into a unique experience at Magifest in Ohio, where magicians test their sleight-of-hand skills under the watchful eyes of their peers. In this article, we’ll recap the event, give you some highlights, and rate the tricks on a scale of one to five magic wands.

At Magifest, we hosted a game of “You FLASH, You LOSE!” where magicians performed sleight-of-hand tricks to a camera projected on a screen. The challenge? There were between 1 and 200 magicians in the room, scrutinizing every move! Adding some fun to the mix, I rated each trick out of five magic wands.

The event featured a mix of young talents and seasoned professionals. Participants showcased a variety of tricks, including vanishes, productions, and more. Some tricks were incredibly difficult, while others were more focused on entertaining the audience.

The crowd was not shy about calling out any fishy moves, which added to the excitement. Throughout the event, I rated the tricks from as low as two and a half wands to as high as five wands. The higher the score, the more impressive the sleight of hand.

Some of the standout performances included Kyle Purnell’s incredible vanish and reappearance, which earned a 4.5 wand rating, and a magician who looped a borrowed ring onto his shoelaces before untying and retying them in an extraordinary display of skill. That trick was so mind-blowing that it earned a perfect score of five wands!

The event also highlighted the talents of young magicians from the Magic Fest youth group. It was amazing to see the level of skill these kids already possessed, and we know that in 10 to 20 years, some of them will undoubtedly become leaders in the magic world.

In conclusion, the “You FLASH, You LOSE!” event at Magifest was a fun and challenging experience for magicians of all levels. It showcased the incredible talent within the magic community and allowed everyone to learn from each other. Remember, whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting, never stop practicing your craft and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the world of magic.
