Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 19, 2026. This policy explains what PuzzleBeat does — and does not — collect when you play puzzles in your browser.

Who we are

PuzzleBeat (puzzlebeat.com) is a free, browser-based jigsaw puzzle site published by LaPorte Labs. You can play catalog puzzles, try a daily challenge, or turn a photo from your device into a custom jigsaw. No download and no account are required.

This policy applies to puzzlebeat.com and related pages we operate under that domain.

No accounts or logins

PuzzleBeat does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide a name, password, or profile. We do not operate a member database for puzzle play. If you email us, we see only what you choose to send.

Custom photo uploads stay on your device

When you choose a personal photo to turn into a puzzle, PuzzleBeat reads that file in your browser only. The image is loaded with a local object URL (URL.createObjectURL) so the jigsaw can draw pieces on a canvas. We do not upload, store, or transmit your photo to PuzzleBeat servers, and we cannot view or recover photos you use this way.

Your custom puzzle exists only in that browser session. Closing the tab, refreshing the page, or choosing a different image discards the local copy. Catalog puzzle images (landscapes, sports, history scenes, and similar) are ordinary website assets we host or load from public image sources — they are not your private photos.

What we do not collect from gameplay

Because play runs in the browser, we do not receive:

Optional timer scores and piece placement live in your current browser session (and, where used, your device’s local storage). They are not uploaded to us as a user account.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

Like most websites, PuzzleBeat uses cookies and similar technologies for basic site operation and to understand aggregate traffic.

We use Google Analytics (measurement ID G-GSGE8J5VTN) to see anonymous usage such as page views, approximate geography, device type, and which puzzles are opened. Analytics cookies do not include your uploaded photos.

Some PuzzleBeat pages may also use third-party advertising, including Google. Google and other ad partners may set cookies to serve and measure ads, limit how often you see an ad, and understand how ads perform. These partners may collect data such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. They do not receive photos you process locally in the puzzle tool.

You can learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services at Google’s Partner Sites policy, and you can opt out of personalized ads at Google Ad Settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies; blocking some cookies may affect analytics or ads without stopping the puzzles from working.

Server logs

Our hosting provider may automatically log standard technical data when you request a page — for example IP address, browser type, date/time, and the URL requested. These logs are used for security, abuse prevention, and keeping the site online. They are not used to reconstruct your custom puzzle photos.

Children

PuzzleBeat is a family-friendly puzzle site and does not knowingly collect personal information from children for accounts, because we do not offer accounts. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete that message.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of PuzzleBeat after an update means you are using the site under the revised policy.
