Color Sort Shelf

How to play

Gather each colour onto a shelf of its own — every shelf ends up empty or holding four of one colour. Each item has a colour and a shape. Tap a shelf to pick up its top group (the run of matching items on top), then tap another shelf to move it there. A move needs room, and the destination must be empty or have the same colour on top; as many as fit move. Undo is free of rules but counted, and every move you make counts, even one you undo. Tap only, no dragging.

Frequently asked questions

How do you play Color Sort Shelf?
Each shelf holds four items and every item has a colour and a shape. Tap a shelf to pick up its top group of matching items, then tap another shelf to move them. The destination needs room and must be empty or have the same colour on top. Gather each colour onto a shelf of its own.
How are medals decided?
By moves against par, the fewest moves a solver found for that day's puzzle. Gold is par exactly, silver is within about 10% of par (never less than one over), bronze is any solve. Every move counts, including ones you undo, and undos are shown separately.
Is today's puzzle the same for everyone?
Yes. It is generated from the calendar date (US Eastern) and is always solvable. Monday and Tuesday use five colours, Wednesday and Thursday six, Friday and Saturday seven, Sunday eight, always with two spare empty shelves. Open a past day with ?d=YYYY-MM-DD.
